We perform every step of the mastering process- from pre-mastering through editing, mastering and galvanics- in-house for maximum data security. In addition, having mastering in-house enables us to maintain the highest quality standards and gives Oem maximum flexibility for quick turnaround opportunities.

PREMASTERING

• Checks for anomalies
• Uses bit to bit verification of data
• Ensures the file structure and data conform to industry specifications

OEM uses the Eclipse Premastering Suite for analyzing and downloading CD and DVD image data to our dedicated network of mastering servers. A Sadie Workstation is used for sound editing purposes.

MASTERING

Mastering is the art of converting source material into a glass master for galvanics.

The actual mastering process is performed on two Sony SLIM HD mastering lines. The Sony systems are fully automatic, in-line mastering systems. They each can cut CD at 1x, 2x, or 4x, and DVD at 1r or 2r.

GALVANICS

Galvanics includes the electroforming and sanding processes after mastering. OEM uses the Technotrans Modec line plating baths.

A ReynoldsTECH unit is used for removing the photoresist. The sanding and punching equipment is from Sibert. The ADE measuring device is used for checking the thickness of the stampers. OEM inspects the stampers with an AECO Stamper Inspection system. Stampers are then played on CD Associates and Datarius stamper players.
